By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder.
By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder – £41I have to say, I didn’t plan to purchase this rather pricey little tub when I popped in to my favourite store, Space NK. I was looking for a few new products to trial and I had tested out a nude base product similar to this when the MUA showed me this, after testing it on his hand, I was sold.
The Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder can be used over skincare or makeup (as a primer or finishing powder, basically), it is made of hydraluronic acid to retain moisture in the skin – technical part over, it aims to smooth over skin and give it an ultra corrective, matte finish. I’m not usually a matte-skin kinda girl, but after one use of this I was hooked. Even a small amount makes a complete difference to my skin, all pores are blurred and imperfections hidden for a flawless base that lasts all day. After a busy day out and then a cramped ride home on the underground, I was very (yet pleasantly) surprised to see how intact my makeup looked. And so a love affair begun.
I would prefer this to be pressed as it’s less mess but I know loose powder does have a more flawless finish (I should also add that I’ve never needed to top up with this, even on nights out so you won’t see me trying to open it one-handedly on the train). The price is a little steep but only a really small amount is needed so I’m hoping this powdery goodness will last me some time. I’ve already named it my “desert island” product…
What are your thoughts on the powder? Let’s not mention the price… sigh.

I’m very intrigued by this powder, i’ve heard amazing things but like you said, i’m put off by loose powders! I also am wary of white powders, normally that means I get a ashy look on my face! Although I imagine this is an exception considering your review + other beauty bloggers! xx

I’ve been in a bit of a quandary for ages over whether to pick this up. I was hoping to get a talc free setting powder (possibly the jurlique rose silk finishing powder) but I’m not sure if I can ignore the glowing reviews the by Terry one’s received! I might have to make a pilgrimage to Space NK and try it out x Becky

Hello Kate,
I really like your blog, and all your posts and videos. I’m french so excuse my english.
I would want to know if ths powder is non comedogenic ? I can’t find it on google and, sometimes, it’s written only on the box so …
thanks a lot and have a good day

Wow! This looks really good, I have a similar sort of one from smashbox but this one looks better! I do hate loose powder though, really awkward for clumsy girls haha x

Your desert island product eh? A bold claim lovely, this must be a brilliant little product. I’ve only ever dabbled with a few By Terry products but have found they live up to their expectations.
I’ll definitely be trying this next time I pop into Space NK.

Such a bold claim to make

This sounds amazing but I can imagine the price. I’m still trying to justify the price of the Touche Veloutée…

Is this at all similar to Tarte’s Smooth Operator Micronized Clay finishing powder? Just wondering, because we don’t have By Terry products and the US and this sounds so wonderful!

We do! Where are you from? I’ve seen it at Barney’s and we even have Space NK inside of Bloomingdales, haha. It doesn’t carry as much as the UK does (because things like Laura Mercier have their own area in Bloomie’s), but it has By Terry, Hourglass, Lipstick Queen, Keyvin Aucoin, and then a section for skin care with things like Caudalie, Ren, etc).

I don’t have this, but I have the BT Hyaluronic Skin Glow, which I really love. I wear it under my LM Tinted Moisturizer. Funny story, I think I bought all of these products a day before you did, when you talked about them in your video haha.
I’d like to start buying more BT products, so the next time I’m in NY, maybe I might pick up that powder…

This sounds so good, even though the price is a little shocking! Would love to see you use this in a makeup video sometime

Hi Kate, I have been reading your blog for a few months now and many of the products you review I end up buying! We seem to have a similar skin type and like the same kinds of products so I always trust your opinion! Thank-you!
I don’t normally wear powder as it can give a cakey finish but this sounds different to a normal powder from your review, who doesn’t want a flawless finish? No doubt I will end up buying it

Kate you are dreadful for my bank account! I might have to add this to my birthday wish list and hope someone feels particularly generous. If not I might have to take the plunge myself xx

I’ve heard people rave about this, there’s no way I could justify the price though xx

OMG, I might have to pick this up! Does this help control oil at all throughout the day? I have combo-normal to oily(t-zone) skin:(
Love your blogs new look also!

Eek the price scares me! Interesting though… a powder that retains moisture!
