I wanted to share with you a few pieces from the Chanel Spring collection, which hits counters today. I love a new collection and, although I don’t always indulge, I think it’s the perfect time to stalk the counters and see what’s new. Spring is always my favourite season for makeup, I’m more a pastel kinda girl and I love corals and pinks on my lips, so you can imagine how happy I was to see the new Chanel collection, although I believe there’s definitely something for everyone (even those who don’t embrace the muted tones).

I absolutely adore this Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in La Favorite, it’s a lovely fresh shade that glides on to the lips and has a matte finish. I don’t own many Chanel lipsticks, except for a few of the classic red shades, as I never feel there’s anything I haven’t already got in my collection. I don’t do deep reds well but I envy those who do, so to have a vivid more pinky red now safely in my collection makes me feel a little smug. I think this is more flattering on my skin tone and it’s daring enough to be able to pull of for a daytime look (maybe…).

As for nails, well the Le Vernis Nail Colour in Emprise has really captured my heart with it’s cool toned pastel pink shade. This goes on my nails beautifully and lasts very well (much longer than my favourite Essie shades). It’s very similar to Essies A Crewed Interest and only needs two coats. A definitely favourite for Spring in my books.
Another pastel winner is the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Liner in Beryl, a soft lavender eye liner that gives eyes a pop of colour. Used sparingly it can make eyes look awake and bright.

I have to say, I’m having to hide my bank card to stop me picking up this limited edition highlighter, there’s no way any normal girl could dare put a brush to that pretty piece! It would lie unused in my drawers, waiting for me to take it out to look at, I’m afraid. What are your thoughts on the Chanel Spring collection? Are any pieces wowing you?
