Daily Makeup #7.
It’s been a while since I’ve really changed my makeup so I haven’t done a ‘Daily Makeup’ post in awhile. I thought I’d tie this in with my Beauty Haul video coming today. I’ve almost got a whole new makeup routine here so it’s definitely worthy of a post!
I’ve been trialling the Bobbi Brown Extra Soothing Balm * recently, it’s a soothing balm that can be used anywhere a little hydration is needed. I’ve been applying a tiny amount on my skin before primer to ensure makeup stays fresh and glowing all day – especially on those areas around the nose and dab a bit on my lips. You can also pat it on top of makeup for a glowing finish. Afterwards I’ve been using the Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation primer, I hadn’t really given this a chance until lately, I always thought it was a little over-hyped (and perhaps it is) but I like that it keeps makeup fresh and flawless looking all day. It doesn’t do much for pores and smoothing over in my opinion, but definitely a winner in terms of priming.
For my base, I’m using my new Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Nude; this is another product everyone loves and I have to admit, it’s really lightweight and gives a healthy finish. I like this as it’s still quite creamy and covers imperfections but it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything.
Another Laura Mercier product I’ve been a fan of recently is the Secret Concealer in 2. It took me a while to get in to this as it’s a creamy product, much thicker than what I’m used to, but now I’ve worked it out I can’t imagine using anything else. It’s great for blemishes, under eye dark circles and redness and stays put all day. I then brush on a small amount of the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder, an absolutely dream of a product! I’m not one for using powders but this little wonder locks in moisture and smooths over pores, lines and imperfections leaving the most flawless base. I was sold on this when I was given a demonstration in store and I haven’t looked back – it keeps makeup fresh all day and my skin looks beautiful no matter what base I’ve gone for.
I then move on to cheeks and combine the Chantecaille Cheek Shade in Mood with the Dior Amber Diamond Poudre Shimmer for a bright, awake look to my skin. Mood gives my skin a really sculpted look and lasts all day and Amber Diamond is my current go to highlighter as it’s very subtle on my skin.
I then slick on Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Granite to comb through my brows and give them some definition. I love this as it’s so simple to use, takes all over a minute and whittles down my eyebrow routine to just one product. These are really great and I highly recommend them if you like shaping your brows. I’ve also been trialling the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette * and I’m really pleased with it – some may say it’s a little dull and I do mix the shades but it’s a handy compact for day wear. For my lashes I use only one product, my favourite Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume mascara * – I never feel like I need anything else, this gives volume, curl and definition without looking too much or smudging.
Finally, my new go to lip colour is MACs Peach Blossom, a lovely Cremesheen formula that adds a soft blue-toned rose pink to my lips. Perfect for everyday use!
What do you think of my current daily makeup? Anything here you’ve tried?

This is insanely cute!! I’m incredibly tempted by the cheek shade, but should really try it myself first before buying… one of the bad aspects of instant online shopping! I would agree that the Laura Mercier products are very rewarding if you take the time to work out how to use them, but sometimes that can take a lot of time and experimentation.
