The Skincare Safe Zone.

posted on: 27 February, 2013

Most of the time when I’m trialling new skincare and switching up products, my skin stays in pretty good condition – these days I don’t often get spots or clogged pores and I count myself lucky. However, when I get a little run down/hormonal or have tried something that doesn’t agree with me, everything comes to the top and my skin will be horrendous for a few days. When this happens, I run straight back to the skincare safe zone – the products I can rely on to a) not break me out further and b) clear up those bad skin woes.

One of my favourite products all year round is the Origins Zero Oil cleanser, despite my skin not being all that oily (I think I sit under the normal/combination type). This is great for unclogging pores, clearing up blemishes and keeping skin in check in general. I use this in the mornings as the mint makes my skin feel fresh without feeling tight or dry. Next up, I use the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, one product I swear by whenever my skin is looking dull, dry, clogged or otherwise. It’s a really refreshing product to use, it’s not drying or stripping it simply gives my skin a boost. Whenever a nasty spot has popped up, I spray on a little of this and dab it in to the spot for a quick fix.

A few other products that I mainly use for evening include the Elemental Herbology Bio-Cellular Super Cleanse, my go to evening cleanser. I’m on the last drop of this so I shall be swiftly repurchasing as it’s really great, it removes all makeup and is a cream/gel hybrid product so you get all the benefits of both. Next up, the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair – a product I’ve been using for a long time and something I highly recommend, my skin loves this and always seems to look a little brighter and healthier the morning after use. It’s a great all round serum that does it all, and I can rely on it to sort my skin out when needed. This is followed by the Origins Make A Difference Plus Treatment, a lightweight gel that seals moisture in the skin for a boost of hydration – another product my skin can’t get enough of. I credit this as one of the products that really helped to clear up my skin when I was suffering from terrible spots about a year ago. It’s plumps and smoothes skin and makes it look as good as possible.

Lastly, I always come back to Origins Night-A-Mins moisturiser for night time, it’s hydrating without being tacky and it never irritates my skin. It’s a perfect “no-nonsense” moisturiser I think, it does what it says on the tub and never lets me down – I usually use this most nights, to be honest. You may have heard of the last product I’ll mention, I’ve only featured it several thousand times. Malin + Goetz Acne Treatment has to be one of my all-time favourite products, it works to dry out the spot in no time, quickly reducing the size of the spot and helping to clear it up in no time. No spot is too big! I adore this and it’s saved my skin many, many times.

After a few days of using this lot, my skin is almost back to normal and I can come out of hiding. What is in your skincare safe zone?

This post came just in time for my skin care shopping trip I have planned for this afternoon! You always post the best products and I always trust your recommendations. Granted, they will probably lead me to the poor house one day, ( at least I’ll have the best looking skin there!)

I’ll have to give some of those Origins products a go – I feel Origins is one of those skincare brands that work great for everyone and help your skin repair itself so well. I’ve been test-trialing a few cream/gel cleansers recently, such as the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and the Ainhoa Vitaminal Cleansing Milk, and I’ve found that they’re very gentle and work really well with the skin – Especially if your skin randomly goes bonkers some weeks. I also try and use deep cleansing masks a bit more than usual if my skin breaks out badly, like 3-4 times a week (Not sure if this is okay or not, but it helps sometimes!).

Human Skin Vitiligo is a disorder which creates depigmentation – the white skin patches emerged as a result of dying of the skin pigmentation. Vitiligo and treatment, this is what the affected people often think of and they must be aware that a number of treatments are available for the disease. It includes vitiligo laser and light therapies and as well as edible therapies, which can restore the loss of pigment.
