This Week’s Most Loved… #21.

posted on: 10 February, 2013

It’s that time of week yet again! Time passes so quick when you’re a real life adult. This week has been a bit boring in terms of beauty as I’ve mainly been unpacking and tidying but I’ve still been slicking on some great products. I’ve not had much time to delve in to my makeup drawers all that often but here are the products that have seen me through…

The Balance Me Rose Otto Hand Cream (£14.50*) was a lovely surprise from the Balance Me team, it was part of a Valentines package including a lipbalm and some rose tea – so sweet! I’ve been keeping this on my desk for regular top ups throughout the working day. My hands have been extremely dry recently and I’ve needed a lot of hand cream to keep me in check. I love the subtle scent of this, despite not being the biggest fan of rose. It absorbs in so quickly without the sticking feeling and my hands instantly feel smooth. I need to check out this brand a little bit more, any recommendations?
Another hand product (I’m still keeping my nail promise!) is one of my favourite nail polishes, Essie’s Lilacism (£7.99) – the most beautiful muted lilac. I always rely on this for a summery pick up, especially in all the rain. It’s one of those “guaranteed a few compliments” polishes that we all love to wear.

As for my face, the Jouer Age Repairing Perfector (£28*) has been my go to product for a silky smooth but natural base for days that only a little coverage is needed. I either wear this alone or use it to build up sheer coverage products, it’s perfect for touch ups during the day as the texture is so silky. I usually use a buffing brush to sweep this where I need it, and it works underneath to tone and firm the skin too.
I’ve pulled a MAC lipstick out of the drawer this week and I’ve fallen for it all over again. MAC Angel (£14) is a subtle pale blue toned pink with a minimal frost finish. It’s not as muted as Creme Cup and has more of a flattering pink tone to it – perfectly creamy for daywear.

I’ve been appreciating my Real Techniques Kabuki Brush (£11.99) a lot more lately, it’s perfect for lightly dusting on powder and can also be opened up to apply highlighter. I find that powder is best applied for a densely packed brush like this and it’s also a good size for travelling too.
Lastly, an old favourite perfume of mine has made the cut this week. Chloe Eau De Parfum (£35.55) is one of the loveliest scents out there – it’s long-lasting, sophisticated and floral. I would definitely name this as one of my favourite Spring time fragrances, despite the lingering scent it’s actually quite lightweight and not too overpowering. A little goes a long way, however.

Now, I’ve picked out my Spring favourites – where’s the Sun? Tell me what you’ve been loving this week…

Some of these products may have been sent to me for review. For more information, see my disclaimer.

Oh my, I gotta try out that RT kabuki brush. I bet it’s great, like any other products from them.

I’m glad that you noticed a difference between Angel and Creme Cup too, I was beginning to think I was the only one (and I agree, it is more flattering than Creme Cup). I really want to try the Real Techniques Kabuki brush, but whenever I go in Boots it seems to be the only one I can’t find! xx

I always look forward to these posts! I loooove Lilacism! This week I have been especially loving Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer and my Groundwork Paint Pot :)

    • Kate

Get out, you are not allowed to come on my blog and brag about your Tarte products, ok?! Serious envy over here ;) Good work on the Groundwork though, it’s actually one of my favourites too! x

      • Amber

My apologies! If it helps, that is the only Tarte product I own! And I have to brag! It is the one concealer that matches my corpse-like skintone.

That Chloé perfume is the best thing ever! Being too shy to ask strangers what perfume they’re wearing, discovering what this magical scent had eluded me for years! Then finally just after Christmas I finally put a scent to a name! I cannot wait to buy some once my Elie Saab is all gone, as it is just divine!
