Beauty Spotlight: Illuminated Skin.

high
One of my great loves in life (apart from eating and sleeping) is bright, healthy skin that only models seem to achieve. There’s nothing like looking peachy for the day ahead, I usually use some form of illuminating product in my routine daily, whether that be a primer, highlighter or base. I do love a good highlighter, me.

It goes without saying that I’m not one for looking glittery, give me the natural look any day. My routine often begins with a brightening primer, usually the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, a lovely warm, peachy primer that preps the skin by blurring imperfections and helping to create an even, bright skin tone. I sometimes mix this in with my foundation but usually I apply it first for a more minimal look. I believe BECCA are relaunching their range so hopefully we’re not losing them just yet.

For days off when I want a small amount of coverage but more of a natural finish, I apply Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint for a sheer base. I usually wear this alone as it’s illuminating enough as it is. It doesn’t have a lot of coverage at all (I first thought this was a primer but it is meant to be used as a foundation) but for everyday use it works like a dream, concealing any blemishes and helping my skin in the radiance department.

Another lazy day product I love using is the Maybelline Dream Soft Blush in Apricot, I dot this on to cheekbones and brow bone like a highlighter. It’s easy to use, affordable and just gives me a touch of highlight where I need it.
For more important occasions (other than work), I swear by MACs Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skin Finish. I don’t use a lot of MAC products on a regular basis these days but I do adore this highlighter, it’s subtle enough for every day and highlights all your best bits. I reach for this most out of all the highlighters that I own (a fair few now) and it’s a MAC must have in my opinion.

What do you use for a lil bit of shimmer?
