January Favourites.

posted on: 26 January, 2014

I’m a bit early with my favourites video this month, but I knew exactly what was going to be included so I thought why not? It’s an odd mix of products to be honest, and quite a drugstore/affordable roundup too – but I really recommend them all!

As always, I’ve linked to every product in the description as well as what I’m wearing etc. – and the Bumble hair powder is in stores tomorrow!

Enjoy xo.

2013 Beauty Favourites.

posted on: 2 January, 2014

It’s here! I’m more excited than I should be! This time of year is always exciting as us here bloggers compile our yearly favourites, which means we can really find out what is worth purchasing. I already have a crazy wishlist but I expect it will grow after a few hours on YouTube – my own video is 20 minutes so I will be clearing my schedule and looking forward to seeing everyone else’s video (hopefully some are even longer than mine!)

As always, I’ve listed everything in the description box so you can have a look. This really are my top picks from the year and I recommend every single one of them. This year I’m hoping to try some new brands that I haven’t used before, such as RMS Beauty, Omorovicza and Sunday Riley and lots more from my current favourite brands, Elemental Herbology, Redken and Korres.

I hope you enjoy the video. xo.

5 Things: 2013′s Best Beauty Discoveries.

posted on: 28 December, 2013

Two thousand and thirteen was the year of the discovered beauty product, I’ve certainly found some products for life over the last twelve months and I’ll sure as heck be taking them in to the new year with me. Here’s a quick run-down of my favourite beauty buys that I’ve uncovered over the course of this year – split in to five groups, of course.

As a skincare obsessive, this category was always going to be the most overflowing of the lot – I’ve really extended my stash this year and now have a pretty solid selection as a result. If I had to pick one cleanser which I’m glad made its way to me, it would have to be the Elemental Herbology Purify & Soothe Cleansing Balm (£30), in my opinion EH cleansers are some of the best and this is actually my second tube of this already this year, and my fourth EH cleanser in total. It packs in some amazing ingredients and never fails to leave my skin feeling and looking completely purified.
Of course, I also discovered my skin’s love for the Pai Rosehip Oil (£20), this stuff is – in a word – AMAZING. I use it every single night, it clears up nasty under the skin blemishes in no time and always smoothes, hydrates and softens my skin.
I also have to give a shout out to both the Origins Make A Difference Lotion (£20) for it’s lovely toning properties that always fix up my skin, and the Eve Lom Dynaspot (£22) as it’s one of the best blemish treatments I’ve tried.

Where to start with makeup? I finally fell in love with the amazing Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil (£26) after feeling uncertain with it at first, and discovered the new Bobbi Brown Ink Liner (£20) which makes eyeliner application a simple task, even for shakey-handed folks like myself. These two products make applying makeup so easy – I urge you to try them both.
I also really adore the Clarins Instant Concealer (£20) for fixing up my under-eye bags in no time at all, and the Rimmel Colour Rush Balms (£5.99) are the answer to my lipstick prayers as they’re affordable, come in a great range of shades, provide lots of colour and have a moisturising, glossy finish.
Another concealer discovery of the year was the ever amazing 17 Phwoarr Paint Concealer (£5.49) which I actually use on blemishes – it’s one of the best concealers I’ve tried!

My move to blonde hair has resulted in an entire switch up of hair products, but before that I was in to the incredible Sachajuan Ocean Mist (£18) the best salt spray I’ve ever tried (and there have been many!). This stuff adds a lovely wave, injects texture and just generally leaves my hair looking amazing. Also up there is the Bumble and bumble Brilliantine (£18), a little suhin’ suhin’ that adds shine and an effortless tousled-ness to the hair – it’s a bit of a winner, let me tell you.
I should also mention my love for the Redken Extreme Strength Builder Mask (£15.56) – the best hair mask I’ve tried for damaged hair.

I’m pretty samesy with my body products on the whole, but I will say that I fell head over heels in love with both the Korres Fig Shower Gel (£8) and the Diptyque Vetyverio Eau De Toilette (£50) – both (mainly) for their scents. I have finally grown up and out of my floral stage – at least in some respects.
I also fell for the beautiful Caudalie Divine Scrub (£21.50) this year and my skin has never looked better – again, this is another product that smells iiiin-credible.

Another few items I want to mention are the CND Stickey Base Coat (£8.95) for it’s amazing strengthening abilities and the way it keeps my nails looking fresh and chip-free for longer, the Diptqye Vetyver Candle (£40) for always lifting my mood with its gorgeous scent and of course, the Babyliss Pro Perfect Curl (£148) for allowing me to easily wave or curl my hair in no time!
Finally, I’ll give a special mention to the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (£11.99) for always being there for me, no matter what formula of makeup I’m using it with. I actually own two and I’m not ashamed.

Feel Unique Sale Picks.

posted on: 24 December, 2013

It’s true, I have my sale shopping head on already – I wasn’t planning on getting involved this year, at least not until Boxing Day but a Feel Unique email arrived and I saw so many great brands taking part, such as Redken, Jurlique, Elemis and more.

I probably will end up buying a few of the above, they are a mix of items that I want to buy that have been on my wishlist for some time and products that I’ve tried any really recommend, such as the Antipodes Aura Manuka Mask and Juliet Cleanser.
My mission for the coming year is to try some Bare Minerals so I think I’ll snap up a few of the items they have in the sale, such as the Multi-Tasking Concealer and Prime Time concealer – does anyone recommend these?
I’ll also be stocking up on my beloved Caudalie products and trying a few more, they’re one of those brands that never disappoint and I always end up finding more than a few items that I love.

I need new Redken shampoo and condition too, so the Extreme range is sitting in my basket right now – I love the scent and how soft and healthy these leave my hair. I really want to try more from Redken as I love everything I’ve tried, I think my wishlist is overflowing with products so this should be interesting…

What have you got your eye on?
